Jon Dewar

Jon Dewar has written, edited and directed several short films and does freelance documentary filmmaking for  the University of New Brunswick. He has won Best Director (Pesticide, Severance) and Best Editing (Miscreation) at Fredericton’s 48 Hour Film Competition and Excellence in Picture Editing at the 2013 Silverwave Film Festival (Mirage). His film Optometry was screened at the 2012 Silverwave Film Festival and Island Media Arts Festival. His inspirations include Paul Thomas Anderson, Steve McQueen, Shane Carruth, and Martin Scorsese. He is a graduate of the university and lives in Fredericton, NB.
