  1. I love this:

I had my tonsils out and was in the Evelyn Nursing Home feeling sorry for myself. Wittgenstein called. I croaked: “I feel just like a dog that has been run over.” He was disgusted: “You don’t know what a dog that has been run over feels like.”

  2. Great book! 🙂 On Truth is good too.

  3. I’ve had a Wittgenstein quotation on my desk for at least a couple of decades: “The limits of my language are the limits of my world.”

    • Ah, from the Tractatus. One must move on to the Investigations and get beyond “my language” and “my world.” 🙂 Bakhtin on the novel is interesting to read next to Wittgenstein.
